1. Comfortable?

 stepping-out.jpg

“Stepping Out” is the theme for this JG advance. And this is first of the three challenges given to me by God.

Am i too comfortable at where i am? Am i dwelling in the circle of my comfort zone?’
Answer: Yes, i am. I need to move more for God.

2. Ready?

 knighted.jpg

Only when called by the King to step forward and receive the honor of knightship, should the person comes before the King. Otherwise, the person should continue to train to be a knight.

‘What form and shape a knight? What characteristic does a knight have? What responsibility does a knight have?’
a. A Knight serve the King and serve the people.
b. Watch this space for updates, as i receive more revelation.

3. Strategic?

This became the first point of consideration towards decision-making. If the choice that i am going to make, makes no difference in the Kingdom of God, why make it. So, choose a path which makes a difference.

Well, Well, Well. Another accident to document. And i will call it my bubble left hand. This just prove that i am injury and accident prone. Come to think of it, it might be that i dare to risk more than others which is causing these ‘prone-ness’.

Back to the accident, I was actually quite amaze when my hand went up in flame. For a moment, my mind was captivated by the fire and the next thing i know, is to look for a place to dump the sparkers. Well, due to my stupidity, it ended on my carpet. It sure isn’t funny when i look at my carpet now (although it sure look nice on the picture). I wonder how much that is going to cost me.

Praise God for a lesson well learn: Never play with Fire.

Nick should be an inspiration to many. When i look at him, i learn how to smile and trust God through my life – the situations, problems and circumstances. We might not have any answers to them all. But we should deposit in our hearts that there is a greater purpose behind it all. That’s why we can trust in the sovereignty of God.

All decision on earth are chained together. Whatever decision someone make, it will affect the decision we make eventually. And all these decision reveals God’s plan at work, for God’s plan will never changed. Whatever God willed, it will be completed.

What God decrees, it will never change.

(disclaimer: to understand the above, you have to understand God’s permissive will)

September 17 started out pretty well. Woke Up, Wash Up and Head Out to work (Weekdays Standard). Well apparently, it won’t be so throughout the day. The rest of the morning was spent trying to restore the office network. It just reveal how much we rely on computers nowadays because no work can be done till it is restored. With the internet restored, we as humans now think that some work can be done. But behold the mighty strong winds. The afternoon was left trying to restore a black-out (strong winds have coupled two wires together causing a short-circuit). And finally at the end of the day, with the power back. Who can ever imagine this, our office network isn’t working once more.

A day spend pondering that things do happen in threes.

I was reading Marcus’s Blog and i thought i will help him with some advertising. It’s a pretty good read and interesting. Not too long, long enough to capture one’s attention. Well, might have to work abit more on the consistency of posts.

James 1:2-8

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Decisison-making is a problem in my life. Someone once said that in fact, “We are making a decision by choosing not to make a decision”. My difficulty is not in not making a decision. But as what the bible says, ‘double-mindedness’. Someone else once said this as well, “We tends to put our decision on the altar, but as time passes, we usually stretch out our hands to reclaim our decision from the altar”. That’s me. Recently, I am learning to stand by my decision whatever the situation might become.

I remembered this statement, “based your decision-making on God, and not only on the information you have”.

Summary
1. Perspective: Remain joyful despite the trials of many kinds
2. Testing: Testing of the Faith develops perseverance
3.
Perseverance: leads to maturity and completeness
4. Character of God: Gives generously to all without finding fault
5. Believe and not Doubt: In the sovereignty of God
6. Decisiveness: An indecisive man is unstable in all he does

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virture and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.

I once read that a normal person think alot – 10000s of thoughts goes through a person’s mind every single day. Even when we are asleep, we think and that i believe is the reason why we dream. Joyce Meyer wrote a book called battlefield of a mind. Because the mind is the most vulnerable place. This is the place where our perspective are formed. And this is the place where Satan love to hang around.

Even the world recognised the power of our mind. That is why positive thinking is so much encouraged. I once said this, “If i see the work i am doing as a chore, of course it is a chore. But if i see it as a joy, it will become so much more fun.” This is the main reason why i seek challenges while others don’t. The power of positive thinking can never be denied. Now coupled it with God, we will have a Godly positive thinker who will always be victorious and overflowing with the fruits of the spirit.

Paul in Philippians 4:8 gives us a deeper insight into Godly Positive Thinking.

1. Focus on The Truth
2. Focus on What is Worthy of Honour (noble)
3. Focus on What is Right (just)
4. Focus on What is Pure
5. Focus on What is Lovely
6. Focus on What is Admirable (good report)

Summary: Focus on things which are excellent (virture) and praiseworthy (approves by God).

Hebrews 1:1-4
1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

About 4 years ago, i studied the possibility of the Trinity. It was mainly based on John 1:1-18. As i read these few verses, I was once again reminded of God in the form of Jesus Christ – His majesty, His power and His authority over all things, His amazing love for us all and us in His image. On top of it all, I am reminded of the inheritance that is in store for me and not just that, but to keep fighting, in order to finish this race of God. As Paul puts it,

“7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” (2 Tim 4)

Briefly, the passage can be broken down into the following which i titled,
The Role of Jesus
1. Jesus Christ – as God
2. Jesus Christ – as the Son
3. Jesus Christ – as the Sacrifice

It just struck me to design a logo for the group. Given that i am a poor creative designer, it doesn’t feel so bad after all. I guess the main flaw with the design is the words PASSION – LOVE – REJOICE. I just can’t get it to align properly. Well, i guess i tried my best. It sure is hard without photoshop.
